Who requires a face fit test
Every person who wears a tight-fitting facepiece requires a face fit test, whether they are using a disposable dust mask in a workshop or a full-face mask for fire fighting. The purpose of respiratory protective equipment is to protect the wearer from hazardous substances; however, that protection is compromised if the mask does not fit correctly. A face fit test helps ensure that the selected mask forms an effective seal and provides the level of protection for which it was designed.
Why do we need it?
To ensure the protective mask fits the wearer's face correctly and provides the highest possible level of protection against harmful airborne substances.
